Hello everyone and welcome to the CommanderCast 2018 Precon Special, Part 3! For those of you who don’t know, every year we here at Commandercast.com do a review for that years Commander product released by WoTC. We then divide the decks up among or staff and send them out to playtest the deck and bring back their finding.  This week, Calvin was tasked with the Natures’ Vengeance deck. A Jund (Red, Black, and Green) deck where the theme of deck is lands matters. Can this deck be a landslide hit or does it break down into mulch? Let’s find out!

General Thoughts (Ha! Puns!):

 

Strategy – How does the deck play?:  

  • *Supposed to play*:
    • Early game ramp/soak damage
    • Wrath mid-game
    • Late game: drop the beefy dudes
  • But…
    • Early game ramp lasts waaay too long
    • Mid-game lockout never really stabilizes
