Happy Holidays everybody. I know it might seem like your world is crashing down on you now that Andy’s gone, but does that mean that we’re through here at Commandercast?

NOPE.

I’m officially taking over the franchise now, and I’m sure everyone’s both surprised, upset, and ready to raise an angry mob over this, but I’m going to do the best I can to fill Andy’s solid gold kicks. Hopefully, though, I can give you a reason to check back in a few weeks when we launch the next season of Commandercast, as well as some general notes about this whole thing. I wish I could give you more, but those shoes don’t shine themselves.

It’s not just Andy who’s leaving us, though. Not everyone on the staff is staying on to write articles for us, and a few of them won’t be on the podcast again either.

We’ll be taking our traditional three week break for the next few weeks while I get myself acclimated to the captain’s chair. The earliest I’d like us to start back up again would be the 21’st of January this year, but I’m not above pushing it back to the first week of February if something goes wrong or I think I need to work some stuff out first. When it comes to CommanderCast, there’s nothing more important to me than trying to do this right.

A handful of people have told me that they’re staying on, including Brionne, Karston, Imshan (mostly to help with the editing, and only until the end of our next season), and JUD (moreso to maintain the FaceBook page than to write, but since he has a kid on the way, that’s very understandable). As such, I’m looking for more writers to help out. If anyone else has any interest in writing for the site, or helping out in any other capacity, please let me know. Lots of CommanderCast regulars got their start here, and I want to continue that tradition. Even if you’re only interested in a monthly piece, send some stuff our way (following our content submission guidelines, of course), and we’ll see where you fit in.

My personal vision? I’d like to try and expand Commandercast if I can. It’s been a great source for newer players out there (myself included, when I first started out), and I want to really get it out there. I’m not sure how I’m going to go about it right now, but at least we have a goal in mind.

I’d go into more detail, but as we speak I’m busy hashing out show notes and herding cats to try and give this new age in CommanderCast history some legs. All I ask for is patience (especially if I turn out to be horrible at hosting/editing/all of the above) and to give plenty of feedback. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, feel free to leave a comment in the section below, tweet me @CommanderCast, or email me at Commandercast(at)gmail(dot)com. I’ve taken over those accounts as well, so hit me up and I’ll get to you as soon as I can.

Things are probably going to change around here, but we’re going to do our best to make sure that everyone keeps getting their weekly dose of strategy, community, AND technology, so good luck to everyone.

As Andy would say, LET’S GET IT!
