Hey all,

You might notice some funky things going on with the site over the next few days, so I’m asking everybody to bear with us as we implement some of the changes that listeners have been asking for: namely, fixing our RSS feed and getting the podcast back up on iTunes.

What’s going on:

An English teacher is attempting to rewrite major parts of the back end of this website.  Be afraid.  Be very afraid.

  • I’ll try to update you all as frequently as I can while also doing my best not to break the site, but please bear with me.  I *think* I’ve straightened out the RSS feed and re-categorized all the episodes of the main CommanderCast podcast going all the way back to the debut 2011 episode with Andy and Byron, but I’m sure there’s still some work to be done.  Hopefully series navigation is back online now.  If it gives you any trouble, let me know.

  • There’s a a separate audio player under the “Read More” tag on the podcast posts now, which is a byproduct of a new podcast plugin I’m experimenting with on the site.  Let me know what you think about it.

  • **CommanderCast is back up on iTunes!

  • I’m trying to reorganize all of the articles and associated content as well.  My dream is to curate all of the outstanding writing, art, and one-off podcasts that our community has poured their efforts into over the years into an easily navigable database of Commander content, but that’s going to take time.  Honestly, I still have trouble finding my own articles on this site, but I’m chipping away at it.  I also posted the “Secret Tech Archive” on the main page out of sheer nostalgia.  I just couldn’t help myself.

None of the content is going away.  I promise. I’m just trying to make it easier to find.

If all goes well, we’ll be all grooving like Jeff Goldblum by the end of the summer.

Hold on to your butts–

I appreciate the sheer amount of work that goes into a thing like this. It shows a real love of the hobby to not just do a podcast every week, but to work hard and manage the site. Hope the transfer goes well for you, and let’s get it.

I’m so glad that I’m not the only one who gets the, “Hold on to your butts,” reference.

I wish you the utmost of luck!

I’d be remiss if I didn’t thank you guys for doing this. I know I’ve been (annoyingly) hounding you guys for a while about this, and I’d be a huge jerk if I didn’t even acknowledged the annoying headaches that doing all this took. Thank you guys.
