This entry is part 28 of 79 in the series Rival's Duel

Ericrdorange smallnolenew90Hello and Welcome to another episode of Rival’s Duel. In this weeks episode, Eric and Nole are talk about the new legends and “commander-walkers” from Commander 2014. Then, they work together to try to build a deck around a commander Nole thinks is neat, Eric thinks is terrible, and both think will need some serious help to go from “unplayable” to “OK.” Give it a listen and let them know how they did in the the comments below. As always, full shownotes after the break.

0:00-13:16- Intro and Listener Email

We are back baby! After Nole’s bought with the plague, we are finally back to business as usual. In this segment, Nole talks about dopey decks that win accidently (and whether or not we should ban Prophet of Kruphix), as well as tackle some email involving the Orzhov episode and questions about Chromatic Lantern.

13:17-46:40- 10 new Commanders, it’s like Christmas came early!

The new commander decks release on 11/7. While at the time of this recording they did not have the full spoiler, Eric and Nole did have all the commanders to talk about. They go over the good (the red ones), the bad (1/2 of the green and blue ones), and the weird (Titania anyone?) of the commander 2014 generals.

46:41-1:12:18 Let’s Build Lord of Tresserhorn

Nole fell in love with this commander while looking for a different Zombie general. While there are certainly better Zombies out there, the idea to build a deck around this “bad” card stuck in Nole’s brain. Since Nole edits the show, he made Eric help him build the start of a Lord of Tresserhorn Commander deck. Give this session a listen and let us know how we did with this 10/4 that mini cruel Ultimatums you when it comes into play.
