If you’re not tired of hearing people drone on about fantasy trading card games, then you’re come back to the right poisoned well. CommanderCast ignites the noise-pollution belching, words-spewing multimedia blitz of FILTH that is season seven. For this onslaught of EDH-related oration I am joined by a classic crew setup. Byron, Carlos and Donovan have taken up mics to join a crusade of knowledge, wisdom, experience and entertainment that rampages across the audioscape as we delve into a bunch of different topics, ranging from the introduction of new format staples to a return to Secret Tech.

As we burss into action with another cycle of content product, I can tell you some pretty whoop-ass items are on the agenda for the near future. “Andy, what STUPID ideas are you hyping up now?” Well, we’re going to do a long-requested episode focused on Duel Commander, including a very special guest. There’s going to be approximately one million new pieces of content, including two new authors (one of whom you already know) and one returning from hiatus. There might even be some kind of contest. Oh, and these (FOR THE CHILDREN):

…so I guess, in summary, shit be bangin’

CARDS: WE PLAY WITH ‘EM. But what the hell is that phenomenon that covers the top half of the card? …’art’ or something? Hmm… let me get a specialist on the jack to discuss this briefly for our Free-For-All Roundtable. To help keep at least some small amount of my crushing ignorance at bay, I tagged in my man Rick aka PolishTamales to back up myself, Andrew, and Gibson this week as we lay down some more science on the track for CommanderCast. Rick is a government-certified baller who got screwed by WotC for producing high-quality free promotional material for them on his DeviantArt page, so he got sweet revenge by ballin’ it up elsewhere and making Sorin and Jace touch each other (presumably). These days you can find Rick laying down his thug thizzle on his like eight outlets, all of which are linked below.

You know my man stay reppin them silly-ass moonfolk b

What are we talking about this week? Well, if the art fight isn’t enough, how about creatureless decks? Maybe a little discussion on making single decks work for multiple playgroups? Also, Secret Tech has the vault topped off by nine new club bangers.

This week on CommanderCast we’re joined by a unique guest: Eric, the administrator of the service PucaTrade. Why does this matter? Well, we’ve never had a guest on the show that I can recall who is here because they provide an actual service to the audience. I guess you could argue that CommanderCast itself is a service but whatever. Eric runs his own site with no advertising or any other such gibberish, despite absorbing a (presumably) considerable cost up front for it. This is unto itself is admirable. PucaTrade itself is something that I think is uniquely beneficial to the Commander crowd, because we don’t want to spend a bunch of time pissing around trying to trade for individual cards from Mirage (necessarily). But I’ll recommend you go and check the site out itself, or listen to the show. If you’re not sold after that, well, you never will be.

…regardless of Eric’s service, he’s also an experienced Commander player and was a much-appreciated guest. Also on deck with me for this week’s episode is long-time CommanderCast contributor Brionne, the author of Line in the Sand, and one other…

So, on top of that, it’s also totally important to note that this week marks the beginning of Gifts Given 2012. The means you can start picking up the new, super-duper swag shirts by ordering them from me and picking up an estimate on how much they’re going to cost. Every shirt includes a donation to charity and if you want, you can give extra monies to the charity too. You can even chalk up those donations to selfish ulterior motives, since they get you extra raffle tickets for our Super Secret Mystery Prizes.

As the CommanderCast staff roll grows uncontrollably, I like to try and get everyone on that list to pop onto the show at some point. It gives you an idea of who’s talking to you in articles, videos, or even some perspective on the brother editing your show and such. This week, we have the podcast debut of my man Mightily_Oats aka Mike. Known as an all-around moneymaker, Photoshop boss, and the author of the now-infamous Cooking With Oats series of articles, I was pleasantly surprised to hear Mike’s voice is way better than my own for radio purposes. I’m sure you guys remember that homeless dude everyone was making a big deal out of for his voice. Imagine that, but instead of being homeless he’s a millionaire in a sweet-ass mansion/compound with a golf course held up by helicopters and you’ve got Mike.

I also have William (you know, Mr. Savor That Commander Flavor) providing the voice of the flavour nerds, Sean giving us the alcohol nerd perspective, and myself holding things down for all the nerds with nothing better to do than talk into a microphone and distribute it out there. The four of us internet fist-bump before delving further into the audioscape adventure of CommanderCast to discuss the value of EDH as a hobby, being the influential lame duck in a game, and then some matching pairs of generals and non-Legend cards.

This week we went to Shauku’s House for another Entourage segment featuring everyone’s… uh… worst vampire in their collection, Shauku, Endbringer. It was out in the middle of nowhere, not many people were around, and we left feeling worse than ever, but we still did it. Accompanying me for this trip into regret and sorrow were Imshan, Justin and very special guest Dave Lee aka Derfington aka Mr. Durdling Around aka The Grand Imperial Celestial Archduke of Pimpology and Lord of All The Arts. We also did some stuff other than the Shauku thing, so I guess you shouldn’t necessarily just skip to that and then turn off your media player.

It’s week two for placing orders for Gifts Given 2012 shirts, hoodies, and so on. Don’t forget–you’re not just getting clothing, you’re giving to a great cause and even entering yourself in a draw for some Super Secret Mystery Prizes. I guess they’re not that mysterious given you can access a full list of them, but still… things! Plus charity! And garments. A winning team.
