Well, we recorded this like a week before Griselbrand got banned so a lot of the bitching in the one segment doesn’t seem terribly current today. But that’s ok, because the rest of the episode should still be good. It’s like the ultimate too-slow news outlet: COMMANDERCAST. Just pretend things are in the state they were like four weeks ago and I’m sure you’ll be nodding with approval.

But aside from that segment, this episode contains two epic-sized joints. Make sure you’ve hit the washroom prior to listening (or listen in there, I don’t even give a shit [oh no sick pun]), because there’s so much information it’s possible you’ll have to jettison weight elsewhere to retain it. Myself, Donovan, Carlos and Scotty Mac deliver some club bangers this week. I’m referring to our Commander Profile on Child of Alara (again, a general everyone on the show has played extensively but me), where we look at it from all kinds of angles and builds, followed by an exhaustive hands-on review of Innistrad. By exhaustive, I mean it’s like 45 minutes. Which cards did we love, and which were stinkers? How about the new Legends? Which of the new cards can be called staples?

I can’t even front: this is one of my favourite episodes of CommanderCast, ever.

How did that happen? Well, first of all we had show notes made entirely out of gunshots… what could be harder than that? Then I hooked up a roster of guests from all corners of the Commander community: myself providing a nonstop torrent of gibberish and screaming catchphrases, Justin bringing his judge knowledge and EDH Cube perspective, Derfington dropping science on Pimpology and then to round out the squad we have a blast from the past with Angry Graybeard bringing his wisdom and experience from his years as a wily veteran. This four-man tactical podcasting team storms your speakers this week with a show of dizzying heights and terrifying, depressing lows. All things considered, I had a lot of fun recording it and I hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed talking.

What was the big deal with this week’s show? Well, consider the following:

1) Graybeard rapped.

2) Justin got confused a few times throughout (drunk/stoned? Both probably) and gave us some great bloopers, not all of which made it onto the show.

3) We had real topics! There should be something for everyone here, no doubt in my mind about that.

Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in…

In the wake of ruin left behind our ongoing audioscape adventure, CommanderCast dove deep into hibernation before emerging today, sundering the internet with a new podcast packed with almost two-hours of fiery debate, sage wisdom, dick jokes, and everything else you’ve come to know the Wrexial-Approved stamp stands for. This is Season Six!

The team on deck is myself, Donovan, Carlos, and special guest beast Karston, the mastermind behind TopAndGoProductions and the administrator of the CommanderCast YouTube Portal. Karston has been helping out the CommanderCast Multimedia Empire for a long time but it really surprised me to find that he’d never been on the show before. It feels great to correct that mistake, and he comes out spitting fire into the cipher with the best of ’em. If you want to see more of his work, do check out the excellent YouTube channel he runs.

Anyway, this is a return to the traditional Community, Strategy, and Technology formula that was kinda… um… skipped over in a previous episode that will go unnamed. We’re back for another round of thirteen episodes, and this podcast is only the initial rumblings of a weeks-long avalanche of Commander content: articles, videos, and podcasts from contributors fresh and familiar is close on the heels of this show. LETS GET IT

CommanderCast goes international for the first episode in Audience Appreciation Month, kicking things off with special guest Thomas from all the way in New Zealand. Using advanted intertron spacetime distortion technologies (like Skype and the world clock), we have connected and recorded another explosive round of the audioscape adventure into the uncharted bowels of EDH. For the duration of audience appreciation month, all topics covered on the show will be audience-suggested, so if you sent me a topic like eight months ago… I’ve been working towards it, trust me.

Beyond that, we have a grand old time in this episode as Thomas turns out to be an OG from across the sea (note the illest rhymes on record). With myself drunk at the helm, Byron and Brionne act as stabilizing elements and our fearsome foursome lay science upon all manner of EDH topics that our audience have requested coverage of.

Oh yeah plus that whole Season 5 Contest thing that’s still happening. You could look into it, or not. Whatever (LOOK INTO IT).

Don’t forget we’re in the planning phases for our next towering Call-Inferno as well! If you want to make the jump from the audience into the cipher of CommanderCast’s next audience-interactive recording, read this page and send me an e-mail!
