I stepped through a back door.and into utter chaos. Liveried footmen and maids fairly flew down the narrow corridors, carrying a host of brooms, dusters, and mops to the far reaches of the manor. I managed to flag down a footman, who only grudgingly led me to the house steward after repeated assurances that, yes, I did realize this was the service area and that, indeed, guests were to enter through the front gate rather than the servants’ door. It was good that he did not recognize me, but all the same, I would have to have a talk with the lady of the manor. Such a lapse in etiquette could not go unremarked! Read the rest of this entry »

It was a fairly typical Friday night and the bar was packed with the usual clientele, unwinding at the end of another work week. The usual collection of bruisers, tough guys, and wannabes crowded into the old place, and the noise began to rise. A few more strangers had walked in tonight than usual, and the evening certainly ended with a bang. Thank goodness that angel had shown up, or it would have ended a whole lot worse… Wait. I suppose I’m getting ahead of myself. To tell the story properly-

Hey guys and gals! As the end of the season approaches, my previous Nephilim-centric column has come to an end as well, so I thought I’d give you all a taste of what lies in store from me for the next season- a series of wildly divergent decks with one unifying factor, the color red.
