This entry is part 486 of 488 in the series CommanderCast

Hello everyone and welcome to CommanderCast Episode 448! This week Mark and Adam are going full 80’s as they guys go deep into the Dungeons in hopes of finding the best cards and maybe fight some Dragons. The guys are going to go over all the new Legendary creatures, a look at a few old school nods to D&D in cards, and then a look at the new Class cards. How do they work and do they have a place in Commander? Week today we’ll find out and hear from the guys about how they feel this will shack out.

All that, plus our usual interstitial fodder, and all you have to do is Click the IB!!!

Interstitial fodder:

  • Eye of the Beholder for PC, Sega CD, GBA, and as a new mod for Neverwinter Nights.
    • Addendum: Adam’s right – his buddy was probably playing the early access version of Baldur’s Gate 3 for PC.
  • Invincible the comic series.
  • 80s metal (is awesome! Don’t listen to Adam).
  • Our takes on Loki episode 3.

Strategy

New Commanders (as of 7/4/21) from Adventures in the Forgotten Realms

Technology

Classes in Magic?! Somebody dropped their character creation settings into our EDH.

From the MTG Wiki page: “The first Class ability is active as long as you control the Class. The next two are activated abilities that allow it to level up. A Class ability is activated at sorcery speed, meaning during your main phase if the stack is empty.”
