CommanderCast Episode 255

Posted: August 1st, 2016

Intros: (No “favorite commanders segment”)

Tired, Fired, and Retired: when & why you decide to put a deck out to pasture.

  • Not fun for me anymore
  • Won’t work without becoming homogenous

How do you go about retrofitting/updating an old deck?  From scratch? Card-by-card? Just replace the old busted with the new hotness?

  • Card -by-card
    • Evaluate new sets
    • Evaluate existing card lists for where a card may fit
    • Look for something to take the weakest card

Breaking Up Is Hard to Do: discuss cards we used to love that have either been outclassed by new cards. (Give one pair of cards each and then talk about your feelings.  It’s OK, it’s 2016.  Nobody’s gonna judge… Well, maybe a little, but you can take it.)
