Commandercast intro:

Commandercast season 13 Episode 3

April 18th 2014

Cassidy of GeneralDamageControl

Cassidy of TCG Player

Favorite Commander:

Cassidy: (GDC) Roon of the Hidden Realm

Cassidy: (TCG) Karador, Ghost Chieftain

Chewey Sound Board

Community: Nekusar

Everyone has a Nekusar deck! What’s up with that?!

Strategy:How does “the Nekusar deck” work?

Windfall effects tend to be more effective than Wheel of Fortune. Lots of overload draw spells are this deck’s main plan.

Discard burn (such as Megrim) also speed up the burn.

Beware the other Nekusar decks!

Technology:Nekusar’s tech closet

Cards that help you play and/or fight Nekusar

Lifegain: Whip of Erebos, Basilisk Collar, Exquisite Blood,

Specter effects: Helm of the Ghastlord, Elder Mastery, Geth’s Grimoire

Lifegain: Sangromancer, Horizon Chimera, Spirit of the Labyrinth, Oloro, Ageless Ascetic

Enchantment removal: Aura Shards

the funniest anti nekusar tech is instant speed bounce. I capsized my opponent’s nekusar into his winds of change, the scaryist thing a nekusar deck can play is a phyrexian tyranny.

Anti nek tek. Platium Emperion. Now give me free cards.

Silly nek tech that I use that I realise you guys did not cover: mass bounce spells. I use it to get rid of dangerous threats and then promptly force them to discard/shuffle and draw them. Brutal and effective.

That said, getting nekusar sent to my hand is an inconvenience, but not a big deal if I’ve got my other nekusar-style cards on the board and ready or in my hand.

    Abundance you fools!
    Replaces the draw effect.
