This entry is part 490 of 494 in the series CommanderCast

Hello everyone and welcome to CommanderCast Episode 452! This week Mark and Adam’s pockets are hurting with trying to keep up with all the new cards that WotC keep churning out. In the current year we’ve seen set after set go by almost completely unnoticed because of how soon the “next big thing” is a few days or a week after it came out. So today we have to ask if it’s worth it to try and keep up with the cards that are being printed or is it just best to take time to enjoy the ones we have already collected before we move on to the next thing? Then the guys want to take a moment to ponder over how much card draw do you really need in a deck where your Commander has a built in draw effect already? Finally, we wrap things up with a quick look at so cards that might help with so of our low funds by finding us a ton of treasures!

Hello everyone and welcome to CommanderCast Episode 451! This week Mark and Adam are speeding things up, so fast in fact that some of the formats mana rocks might become obsolete. With the current mana cost of newer Commanders, better options in lands, spells, and other artifacts… is there any room left for the 3 CMC mana producing artifacts of old? But first, the guys want to ask you, yes you, how you feel about the history of EDH or Commander? Is it something important enough to visit in the future or is the past best left alone? Then, to wrap things up the guys want to take a look at a few of the 3 CMC mana rocks we would like to consider as being still viable… maybe.

This entry is part 487 of 494 in the series CommanderCast

Hello everyone and welcome to CommanderCast Episode 449! This week Mark and Adam ask the question… is it possible to actually have too many Legendary creatures in Commander? Commander is a format based on having Legendary creatures (and a few exceptions) that are used to represent the flavor, creativity, and style of deck you. Is it possible the WotC are currently over printing the amount of cards that can be used as a Commander? Has the company that says limitations breed creativity lost control of the limits of the different cards they release or is variety really the spice of life? Then, with the latest spoilers from the most recent set, Adventures into the Forgotten Realms, we get to look at what may be the two most interesting Commanders the set has to offer. Finally, we get to go deep into the newest style of modal spells from AFR with the Flavor Words mechanic. These are the flavor based modal spells with the Italicized words before the effects on the card which are designed to give you a bit of a flavor/story as to what is happening when you choose you adventure. So how does this new way of story telling stack up? Let’s find out!

Hello everyone and welcome to CommanderCast Episode 447! As Americans we are by law allowed at least one day a year to make something exploded. That day is Independence Day here in the U.S.A. and it usually includes being drunk and eating overcooked meats while performing the previously mentioned action of intentional explosions. So this week, to celebrate, Mark and Adam are… talking about being in the deepest, darkest parts of the new Dungeons from the D&D Realms Beyond set. So we’re talking about the new Dungeon mechanic. Also, is the most dangerous card in Magic no longer Island? With the way Green has been push lately it’s starting to look like the Forest has come to take the seat that the Island has held for most of Magic’s history. Then we wrap things up with one final look at a few personal favorite cards from Modern Horizons 2.
