Rival’s Duel 47- Angels, Eldrazi, and Charlie Sheen
August 20, 2015
Hello and welcome to another episode of Rival’s Duel. This, “Rock Star from Mars” Eric and “Vatican Assassin” Nole are taking about winning, specifically about what role winning should play in your games of Commander. They also talk about the pretty and pretty underwhelming FTV: Angels, and the beginning of the Battle for Zendikar spoilers. As always, full shownotes after the break.
0:00-23:23 Intros and Angels
We start this episode with a great deal of mental wandering, answering a listener e-mail about Nole’s Oros deck, and going through the cards in FTV:Angels. Spoilers: There are a lot of cards that used to be good.
23:24-34:43 Begin fueling the hype train!
The newest duel deck contents have been spoiled and the decks are… not good. However, the new mechanics for the new set are out and those are sweet! We spend a bit of time talking about the new and returning mechanics.
34:44- End #winning and outro
Commander is a game that is as much about the journey as the destination. However, at some point someone has to take home that brass ring. In this segment, we talk about what role (if any), winning and “pushing for the win” should play in your playgroup. We also limit ourselves to only one joke about Charlie Sheen citra 2011. Give us a listen and let us know what you think about winning in the comments below.
